Networking for Introverts and Those Who Want to Understand Them

IIBA Palmetto, DC Metro & Cleveland Chapters
Joint Virtual Meeting

Wednesday, May 22, 2024
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM EDT (UTC -4 hours)

Do you identify yourself as an introvert? Or do you need help connecting with your introverted stakeholders?

The work of a BA often requires us to network and build relationships with our stakeholders. We must identify their needs and deliver solutions that are valuable to them. But how can we know what our stakeholders need or value without some level of relationship-building? And how do we initiate and nurture those relationships as introverts who would rather analyze than interact?

As a life-long introvert, Olivia is well-qualified to lead this fun and lighthearted discussion while highlighting her takeaways from Devora Zack's book, Networking for People Who Hate Networking. During the presentation, you will have an opportunity to practice your new networking strategies in mini-breakout sessions.

Join us to learn tips and have fun while honing your BA networking skills!

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the preferences and common practices of introverts in the workplace.
  • Introverts will learn how to network in ways that harness their strengths, not work against them.
  • Extroverts will become more aware of the preferences of introverts so they can initiate and improve their relationships with them.

Olivia is the current president of the IIBA Palmetto Chapter and a true analyst. She often questions what others readily accept and constantly looks for ways to improve processes, professionally and personally. Olivia also loves to problem-solve. Whether conducting a root cause analysis to resolve an issue or evaluating risk mitigation strategies to keep her projects on track, she enjoys a challenge.

Olivia's journey in business analysis began long before she knew what the acronym BA stood for.
